W.U.M.B.A
WUMBA
is the Western Uintas Mountain Bike Alliance.
Are
you interested in maintaining, establishing, and riding trails in the Western
Uinta Mountains?
WUMBA
is a Kamas, UT based group of cyclists dedicated to preserving the existing
mountain biking that we have in the Western Uintas. We are also invested
in the creation of new, quality, multi-use trails.
The
forest service has already closed trails in the Western Uintas.
The
North Fork Trail has had historical mountain bike use, yet was technically
closed in 1999 for no apparent and/or obvious management reason.
We have also lost many great trails to the lakes country proposed wilderness
area and the High Uinta Wilderness.
Also,
many existing trails need maintenance. WUMBA is an active group working
to provide trail labor to the forest service that greatly lacks the funds
needed for trailwork. Please join together to preserve our
rights as trail users!
Here
are a few trail issues that WUMBA currently supports:
-
The re-opening
of The North Fork Trail from Crystal Lake to Pine Valley.
-
The re-opening
of The Lofty Lakes Loop,
We
also support the continued use of all historical trails outside of the
Wilderness or Proposed Wilderness areas.
